Dear Brother Julius,
Enclosed please find affidavit which I signed before the U.S. consul and which will, I hope, be sufficient. Some time ago I recieved [sic] a letter from N.W. Nat. Life Ins. Co. advising me that my premium was past due, and in reply I referred them to you, but perhaps father has already taken care of the matter.
Yesterday I recieved [sic] your letter containing the fifty dollars which I have placed to my credit here, and thank you very much for this advance.
Yesterday the fourth we had quite a celebration here in Paris and everything American is now by far the most popular thing here.
Will mail this letter trusting it goes by this Saturday’s boat.
With very best love to all,
Your affectionate brother
Luther
